Cultural Psychotherapy

An innovative product, a groundbreaking intervention exclusively by SyZefxi

Can art collaborate with science to offer truly

therapeutic experiences for everyone?

In an Open On-Stage Session, actors portraying characters from TV series, films, or theatrical plays or local people of the city take a seat in the therapist’s chair — either as their roles or their real selves. Each session revolves around a specific theme related to mental health and interpersonal relationships.

This form of on-stage psychotherapy is improvised and can unfold in various directions, often ending with a different outcome than the original script. The audience reconnects with familiar characters and, through an interactive discussion, takes part in a reflective and experiential journey of discovery.

What happens during a Cultural Therapeutic session?

Cultural Psychotherapy uses art as a tool to “translate” scientific knowledge into lived experience. It is an inclusive, accessible, and powerful method of emotional engagement, always framed by different forms of art—music, dance, theatrical storytelling—and addressed to the wider public.Audience members identify with familiar characters from television, cinema, or theater. By watching therapy unfold on stage, they embark on a journey of self-reflection and recognition—without ever having to expose themselves personally. They are entertained, they relate, they discover. The goal of Cultural Psychotherapy is to establish a consistent and inclusive method, where both well-known and lesser-known individuals—everyday people from our city and beyond—take part. This is a form of inclusive psychotherapy, where art stands on the frontlines of emotional awareness. Art can open doors that mental health professionals alone often cannot. We want to open those doors—and then invite those who feel ready to explore further, to seek out specialized support.Cultural Psychotherapy says:"I can offer you something that makes you feel lighter, that is grounded in scientific understanding, and that may gently inspire you to look deeper. But most of all, I want you to leave feeling good. To feel that you lived a moment that mattered—one you truly tasted, one that filled you, rather than left you empty."
